NewsFilm Online, which has recently been added to Birkbeck's eLibrary, may from its title seem to be more relevant to media students than those engaging in the study of law. However I think that it's definitely worth a look having watched a variety of clips on legal-related matters (including a 1978 ITN piece on the law relating to consumer contracts for example).
NewsFilm Online contains a selection of news stories and programme scripts from the ITN/Reuters archives. In total around 60,000 stories are included, with date coverage ranging from 1910 - 2007. Main subject headings include, Economy, Business & Finance, Crime, Law & Justice and Unrest, Conflict & Law. Videos can be played back or downloaded to view at a later date.
The Browse Subjects / Dates headings are good for a bit of serendipitous discovery. Alternatively try Advanced Search to look for reports on a particular subject or individual and within a specific date range.
